Professor Scott Sheffield has been named as one of the recipients of the 2009 Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE). It is the highest distinction awarded by the government of the United States to scientists and engineers beginning their careers.

Scott will be presented the award at a ceremony in the White House this fall.
