Creating a Course Website
The Department of Mathematics has multiple solutions for course websites:
Canvas
Canvas is MIT's learning management platform. This is a robust, click-to-edit course system with Zoom integration, Piazza integration and Gradebook capabilities. Canvas sites are automatically created, and you should see your course when logged in at https://web.mit.edu/canvas/. If you don't see your course, or have issues using Canvas, please contact .
MIT Mathematics Course Template
Faculty and instructors are free to use the Math Department Course Template within the department's course directory (/math/www/docs/classes/18.???/YYYYsemester/). Although not as robust as Canvas, this template is fully customizable for those with knowledge of HTML/web editing. Please contact if you'd like to set up this directory.
Faculty/Instructor Home Directory
Faculty and instructors are welcome to create their own website within their home directory (/math/home/your_username/www/). Instructions for editing can be found on the Math Website Creation Page. The Course Template Zip File is also available for download [Kerberos Required].
