Naomi Sweeting

Bio

Naomi Sweeting received her BA in mathematics with honors from the University of Chicago in 2019. She received her PhD from Harvard University in 2024, where she was advised by Professor Mark Kisin. In 2023, she was a visiting graduate student at the Simons-Lauffer mathematical institute. From 2024 to 2026, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Princeton University, advised by Professor Christopher Skinner. Both her graduate and postdoctoral studies were supported by NSF fellowship grants. Since 2026, she has been a tenure-track assistant professor at MIT. Sweeting was awarded the Alice T. Schafer prize from the Association of Women in Mathematics in 2019, and the AWM Dissertation Prize in 2024 for her thesis on "Tate classes and endoscopy for GSp(4) over totally real fields." Her research interests include Shimura varieties, automorphic representations, and cases of the Bloch-Kato conjectures.
