Bio

Marvin Koonce is a 1st-year Ph.D. student in mathematics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is interested in analysis, particularly in partial differential equations. Before arriving at MIT, he studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he recieved a B.S. in Mathematics with highest honors and a B.A. in Music. He wrote his undergraduate honors thesis about a multiple-speed system of wave equations under the direction of Jason Metcalfe; you can find it here.
