Research

cluster algebras, total positivity, combinatorics of scattering amplitudes, algebraic combinatorics

Bio

Melissa does research in algebraic combinatorics, particularly combinatorics related to total positivity and cluster algebras. She is also interested in connections between these topics and the physics of scattering amplitudes. She obtained her PhD from UC Berkeley in 2021, under the supervision of Lauren Williams. Her thesis was awarded the Ribet and Goldberg Award in Algebra. Prior to coming to MIT, Melissa was a President's Postdoctoral Fellow at UCLA in 2021 and an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Michigan from 2021 to 2022.
