Math Minor
Required Subjects
A Minor in Mathematics requires six 12-unit subjects in Course 18.
These six subjects must include:
- classes beyond the General Institute calculus requirement
- classes of essentially different content
- at least three advanced subjects
An "advanced subject" is a subject whose first decimal digit is one or higher.
Subjects offered jointly with another department (e.g., 18.400J/6.1400J) count as subjects in Course 18. Other subjects outside Course 18 are not acceptable, even if they have strong mathematical content.
There is no separate minor in Course 18C. For general advice about mathematics subjects, see Mathematics Subjects.
