Bio

Alexander Poremba is a postdoctoral associate working at the intersection of quantum computation and cryptography. He uses tools from cryptography to study fundamental questions in quantum information science. Recently, he's been especially interested in achieving quantum advantage in cryptography; in particular, whether it is possible to design useful quantum cryptographic primitives which are otherwise impossible to achieve in a classical world.

He received his PhD in computer science from Caltech under the supervision of Thomas Vidick.
