COURSE DESCRIPTION

Introduction to commutative algebra aimed at preparing students for further study in algebra, number theory, and algebraic geometry (e.g. 18.708, 18.725, 18.737, and 18.725). See OCW for the 2008 version of this course.

Prerequisites: A year of algebra groups covering groups, rings, and fields at the level of 18.701/2.
