Our goal is to enroll approximately 24 new doctoral (Ph.D.) students each year: two-thirds in Pure Mathematics and one-third in Applied Mathematics. Admission is to the Ph.D. program only: there is no Masters degree program. Letters of recommendation play a very strong role in the admissions process. The final selection of graduate students is based on letters of recommendation, the applicant's grades, the applicant's own statement of goals, the GRE's (general exam and math subject test), and, for non-native speakers of English, the TOEFL.
