Bio

Gonzalo Cao-Labora is currently a PhD candidate at MIT, supervised by Professor Gigliola Staffilani. Cao-Labora joined MIT in 2020, after completing two BSc in Mathematics and Physics Engineering at Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain), under the CFIS program. He also spent one year at Princeton University as a Visiting Student Research Collaborator. Cao-Labora was awarded the Emmy Noether price from the Societat Catalana de Matematiques on 2020.

Cao-Labora's interests lie in PDE, concretely in Analysis of Fluids and Dispersive PDE. His research has focused on self-similar singularity formation for fluids and probabilistic local-wellposedness for dispersive PDE. He is currently a collaborator of Prof. Buckmaster (NYU), Prof. Gomez-Serrano (Brown), Jia Shi (MIT) and Prof. Staffilani (MIT).
