Graduate Student 2011-2016

Ruthi Hortsch

I came to MIT in 2011, after completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan.  I am interested in algebraic number theory and arithmetic geometry, which vaguely means that I want to understand the rationals better by studying related objects and their geometric properties. I've worked as a mentor at Canada/USA Mathcamp and I can't imagine a better way to spend one's summer. At times I have also been known to rock climb, read science fiction and volunteer.
