Christine Breiner

Christine joined the MIT mathematics department as a CLE Moore Instructor in September 2009.  She received the PhD from Johns Hopkins University (JHU) with William P.  Minicozzi, II, and the M.A. in mathematics from JHU in 2005. Breiner's research interests include topics in geometric analysis, PDEs and study of minimal surfaces.

Breiner is highly regarded for her teaching, receiving the first of three distinctions in 2003 with the Apgar Teaching Award of the Roland Park Country School. This is a college preparatory school of girls, K-12, in Northern Baltimore. At Johns Hopkins, she was selected for the 2005 William Kelso Morrill Teaching Award, for the graduate student who best displays love of teaching, love of mathematics, and concern for students. She received the Excellence in Teaching Award for undergraduate teaching from the JHU mathematics department in 2007.
