The one-week conference Symmetries in Mathematics and Physics, which is being organized to honor the 65th birthday of Prof. Victor G. Kac (MIT), intends to present some of the most important and recent developments in Mathematics and Physics through the concept of "symmetry", which encompasses the major algebraic ideas involved in the description of physical problems. The conference will take place in Cortona (Italy), at the Palazzone, a conference location belonging to the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa, between June 22 and 28, 2008. Although the list of speakers has already been chosen, the organizers expect a number of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to attend. |
