Vijay Srinivasan

I am a fifth year graduate student at MIT, supported by an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. Previously, I was an undergraduate at the University of Chicago.

In the summer of 2025, I was an intern in the Singapore office of Squarepoint Capital.*

My advisor is Wei Zhang.

I am interested in number theory and algebraic geometry. My current research focuses on p-adic aspects of triple-product L-functions and modular forms on Shimura curves, and applications of such theory to the arithmetic of elliptic curves.

*Poincaré sounds like the translation of "square point" to French, not a coincidence!

• Spring 2025: I co-organized STAGE, this time about about the Lawrence–Venkatesh approach to the Mordell conjecture.
• Fall 2023: I co-organized STAGE, which is about torsion in Mordell–Weil groups of elliptic curves.
• Fall 2022: I co-organized STAGE, which was about cohomological obstructions to rational points.
• Summer 2022: I ran a learning seminar on the Gross–Zagier formula.
