2.5 Cylindrical Coordinates

Cylindrical coordinates consist of one rectangular coordinate, z, and polar coordinates in the xy plane exactly as above.
We have

r(t) = rur + z(y)k

and everything said for polar coordinates holds here for the components of motion in the xy plane. (distance to the origin becomes distance to the z axis here.)
