ABSTRACT

Two interesting combinatorial objects having enumerative connections with (type-A) noncrossing partitions are the associahedron and permutations with certain pattern restrictions. We will describe type-B analogues of these objects, and several results relating them to type-B noncrossing partitions. We will discuss further properties which parallel those known for type A.
