The first limerick below is a well-known one by that incredibly prolific poet, Anonymous.
The second I wrote as a complement to it, and the third as a sequel to the second.

There was a young man of Japan
Whose limericks never would scan.
When asked why this was,
He answered, “Because
I always like to get as many words into the last line as I possibly can.”

There once was an rhyme-loving nerd
Whose limericks all were absurd,
    For his rule was he must
    In the last line put just
One

Said a friend, who was bantering with him,
“I bet that your limericks' rhythm
Will come out just fine if ya
Fill the last line with a
Sesquipedalianism.”
