Updated information on "A conjectured combinatorial interpretation of the normalized irreducible character values of the symmetric group"

• The conjecture of this paper was proved by Valentin Féray at math.CO/0602190. For a generalization and some applications due to Piotr Sniady, click here. Another application was given by Féray at arXiv:0710.5885, viz., a proof of the positivity of the coefficients of Kerov's character polynomials. A generalization (still unproved) of the conjecture to Jack polynomials was given by Michelle Lassalle.
