Vigleik Angeltveit
Topological Hochschild cohomology of Morava K-theory

Abstract:

Warning: this talk is not original, it has already been given twice. If you don't mind, you can hear me explain a result by Baker and Lazarev that says that THH(KU/2)=KU_2, i.e., that THH of Morava K_1 is Morava E_1 , and discuss how it generalizes. It turns out that THH(K_1)=E_1 also at odd primes, for p-1 out of p homotopy classes of multiplications on K_1. Time permitting, I will explain how THH(K_n)=E_n if the multiplication we choose on K_n is "sufficiently non-commutative" and make one or two conjectures about what happens when the multiplication is more commutative.
