Some Duality
Abstract:
There are many different kinds of duality that show up in the
homological context:
Pontryagin duality, Poincare duality, Spanier-Whitehead duality,
Serre/Verdier/Grothendieck duality, Matlis duality, Greenlees-May
duality, duality for discrete, profinite, and Lie groups, and in the
Ext groups of Gorenstein rings, Brown-Comenetz duality, Gross-Hopkins
duality, to name some dualities. I will discuss how some of these
dualities are related in two abtract frameworks proposed by
Fausk-Hu-May and Dwyer-Greenlees-Iyengar.
