This will be an elementary talk on characteristic classes. I will start by
giving my favourite construction of Chern classes, and then do some
calculations with these. Now, the point of the talk (if there is one...)
is to show how both Chern classes and some results about them generalize
to cohomology theories other than ordinary cohomology.
