A Twisted Talk
Abstract:

In honor of Mike Hopkins' class at Harvard on twisted K-theory, I will give a completely unrelated talk on twistings in topology from a relatively elementary perspective. Focus will be on how to get homology with twisted coefficients, and exactly what sorts of computations one can reasonably do. Time permitting, I may steal some results of C. Douglas about the twisted K-homology of simple Lie groups, hinting at hoped for conclusions for a pipe-dream project of twisted tmf-homology of their classifying spaces.
