Since our formation in 2020, we have successfully paired 54 graduate student mentors with 143 undergraduate students. Many of our mentors have continued to mentor over multiple years, and several of our undergraduate mentees have transitioned into mentors themselves when they enroll as graduate students at MIT.

Symplectic geometry, homotopy theory
Mentor 2024
I'm a graduate student, advised by Paul Seidel, interested in symplectic geometry. Primarily, I study questions in the intersection of Floer theory and homotopy theory. Before MIT, I was a math major at Brown University. Outside of math, I enjoy climbing and hiking.
Number theory, arithmetic geometry

I'm a fifth year grad student, interested in number theory and arithmetic geometry. Previously, I was at Princeton University as an undergraduate and did Part III in mathematics at the University of Cambridge. Outside of mathematics, I enjoy playing the piano and various sports.

I’m a second year graduate student working jointly on geometric analysis and complex geometry. I did my undergraduate at Harvard where I got my bachelor’s and masters. I enjoy cooking and sports in my free time.

I'm in my final year of the CSE-Math PhD program where I work with Laurent Demanet on wave-based imaging and inversion. I'm originally from Texas and previously completed my undergrad at UT Austin in geophysics and math. Outside of research, I enjoy hiking and spending time with my pets.

I'm a finishing grad student and my interests are in quantum information science and error-correcting codes. I'm from Toronto and I did my undergrad there at U of T. As hobbies I enjoy doing escape rooms and puzzle hunts, writing song parodies, and solving Project Euler problems.

I'm a fifth-year advised by Mike Hopkins. Before MIT, I completed my undergraduate degree at Harvard and my master's degree through Part III at the University of Cambridge. I study algebraic topology and quantum field theory, so a blend of pure math and theoretical physics. Outside of math, I like running and archery.

I’m a 1st year graduate student interested in algebraic number theory. I grew up in Germany and did my undergrad and master’s at ETH Zurich. Outside of math, I enjoy tabletennis, running, travelling, and complaining about not having enough time!

I'm a 1st year PhD student interested in algebraic combinatorics. Before MIT, I grew up in Da Nang, Vietnam and went to Minnesota for my undergrad. Outside of math, I like cats, audiobooks, and watching planes from the terrace.

I'm a grad student originally from Charlottesville, VA. I study questions in gauge theory and Floer homology, with an eye toward applications in low dimensional topology. Outside of math, I like to cook and read, and enjoy going for runs in Boston and Cambridge. I also play violin!
