 General mechanics of class. Discuss syllabus, grading, books, notes, etc.

 Background issue: This class uses concepts from several prior classes. Some
 of you may have forgotten these concepts,  or not have enough practice with
 them, or maybe they showed up in a footnote in a prior class.   To help you
 with this, the problem sets will sometimes include "practice problems", and
 I will spend some fraction of the lectures with review.   But you will need
 to go back and read in a textbook *not* *your* *class* *notes*, but a book,
 to remember or fill in left over gaps.
