Title: Making a Derived Equivalence Explicit
Abstract: We say that two smooth varieties X and X' are derived equivalent if there is an equivalence of derived categories between D(X) and D(X'). If X and X' are derived equivalent, we can view points of X as certain complexes of sheaves on X'. In this talk I will consider the problem of characterizing which complexes of sheaves on X' correspond to sheaves on X, and show how giving such a description can help us understand the geometry of X. For example, if X is a smooth surface with a full strong exceptional collection of line bundles, then X is rational.
