John Lesieutre

I am a 4th year graduate student in the MIT mathematics department, studying algebraic geometry. My interests include

  • The minimal model program
  • Zariski decompositions
  • Calabi-Yau threefolds

Some of the geometric phenomena I study first appear for surfaces moving in three dimensions -- this is a useful testing ground for understanding what can happen in more general spaces.

In Spring 2013 I am teaching 18.06 (linear algebra).
