I obtained my Ph.D.-degree from the Division of Applied Mathematics, Brown University in May 2010 under the supervision of Professor Yan Guo. During the 2010-2011 academic year I was a Postdoc at the University of Zurich under the mentorship of Professor Camillo DeLellis.

The areas of my research are in the field of nonlinear partial differential equations. I have been primarily concerned with two different types of problems: free boundary problems arising in the mathematical description of phase transitions - the so called Stefan problem with surface tension - and kinetic equations arising in the description of the dynamics of galaxies - the so called Vlasov-Poisson and the relativstic Vlasov-Poisson system.

Research interests

Partial differential equations. Mathematical problems in phase transitions, fluid mechanics, kinetic theory.
