This workshop to be held at the University of Miami (Coral Gables, Florida) is part of the FRG "Homological mirror symmetry and applications". It will consist of four short courses, plus individual talks and informal discussions, over five or six days. We are planning for about 30 participants.
The talks will be held in the Whitten University Center, in the Flamingo Ballroom A & B (2nd Floor). See the campus map for directions.
Scientific program: the workshop will start on Monday morning (January 19) and will end at lunch time on Saturday January 24. There will be four mini-courses of three lectures each, delivered by Maxim Kontsevich, Hiraku Nakajima, Richard Thomas, and Denis Auroux. In addition, there will be individual talks, as well as time for informal discussions.
Accommodation: We have reserved a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn near campus. You will be able to book these rooms at a special rate through the University of Miami. Do not contact the hotel directly. Instead, please contact Sylvia Bacallao (sylvia@math.miami.edu) giving your arrival/departure dates. The deadline for booking accommodation is Monday December 1 (after that, prices will go up quite a lot, and availability is no longer guaranteed).
Please note: due to space and cost restrictions, we expect most junior participants (graduate students) to share double rooms. If you have a preferred roommate, or if you have specific constraints or requests, please let us know (and let Sylvia know).
Travel: Miami International Airport is about 7 miles from campus. Invited participants: When booking flights, please keep in mind NSF and University of Miami rules. Only US-based airlines are permitted (more specifically your plane ticket mush be issued by a US air carrier and show US carrier flight numbers), Please keep all your original boarding passes since they will be needed for reimbursement. We will be able to partially refund travel for invited participants (the precise meaning of "partially" will depend on the final number of participants, and their needs).
Once your plans are finalized, please e-mail the organizers with your arrival/departure dates and an estimate of your travel expenses.
