Math has always been my thing, as early back as first or second grade when we had addition facts competitions, it has always been my favorite subject in school. It became a huge part of how I identify myself when I rather enthusiastically finished sixth, seventh, and eighth grade-level problems in sixth grade, and got moved into high school math for the next year. Math has always been a thing that I did for the love of it, but I never thought it would be the thing, the big scary looming-in-the-distance rest-of-my-life kind of thing. But now it is, and I couldn't be happier with my decisions. I don't know what the future holds for me - currently I'm torn between wanting to go to graduate school for number theory and going to graduate school for education and education policy, so I could improve math education for K-12 students. I'm happy to be a part of a group where I can use my love of math to help younger girls discover their passion for math and engineering, and am looking forward to the rest of my time with USWIM.
