Computer Help

Welcome to the MIT Department of Mathematics computer network! The Math Department has its own computer network, built and maintained separately from MIT's network. This network is used by all Math faculty, staff, and graduate students.

Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the information on this site, including our FAQ page and our policies page.

If you are experiencing computer problems, please send a detailed email to help@math.mit.edu, call us at 3-4995, or stop by room 2-235.

Department Computing News

  • IS&T is retiring the MIT and MIT N wireless connections in January 2012, visit ist.mit.edu/news/open_networks_retirement for more info. Please switch over to the secure version of these connections (MIT Secure and MIT Secure N) as soon as possible. Contact the Math Help desk if you have any question or problems.
  • The computer lab in room 2-268 is open again, and the printers in room 2-285 have been moved back in to 2-268.
  • We will never ask you for your username or password by email . Please ignore any email asking you to send your username or password, it is a scam and an attempt to steal your identity.
  • Due to popular request, we have enabled POP access to Math Dept email. To download math email with Gmail, follow these instructions.
