Roman Bezrukavnikov joined the MIT mathematics faculty as professor in 2005. He received the M.A. from Brandeis in 1994, and the Ph.D. from Tel Aviv University in 1998, under the direction of Joseph Bernstein. Subsequently, he was appointed L.E. Dickson Instructor at the University of Chicago, and joined the faculty at Northwestern University in 2002. A long-term Clay Mathematics Prize fellow and Sloan fellow, Professor Bezrukavikov concentrates on problems in geometric representation theory and in algebraic geometry. In 2014, he was awarded a Simons Fellowship in Mathematics.
