Setting up Thunderbird to use IMAP


Thunderbird is redesign of Netscape/Mozilla Mail and can be found downloaded here .

Note: Not all steps have screenshots.



1. Click  on the Tools Menu and Select Account Settings. From the Account Setting Window click Add Account. The Account Wizard will open click  on Email Account and click Next.

2. Fill in the Identity window and click next.

3. Under the Server Information window, ensure the fields display as below:

4. In the User Names window enter your username and click Next.

5. In the Account Name window enter a suitable name for this account and click Next.

6. On the next screen click Finish.

7. In the Account Settings window under the account you just created click on Server Settings and ensure the settings match those below.

8. Click Advanced.

9. Under the IMAP tab enter "mail" in the IMAP server directory field and click OK.

10. Click OK.

11. Select Outgoing Server(SMTP) in the left pane and enter the following settings:

12. Click OK.
