Can I bring in my laptop running linux and use it on the network?

No laptops running linux will be allowed to run on the Math Department network. The reason for this is that a great deal of unseen system maintenance is performed on the machines on a daily basis to insure network security. Having systems, such as laptops, that are sometimes off the network would be impossible to keep maintained at a high level of security.
