Principles of Applied Mathematics (18.311)
Drop date information for students.

 This is what the grades look like today, with the results
 from the first 3 problem sets

      The average is approximately ........ 77%
      the standard deviation is about ..... 15%

 The number grades should be computed as follows:

     number grade = 0.3*(sum regular PS scores)/420 +
                    0.7*(sum special PS scores)/180.

 Compute your own grade, using your problem set results, and
 compare with the table below to see where you stand

 With the CURRENT numbers:
                    Above 85 ..... A
                    75 to 85 ..... B
                    60 to 75 ..... C
                    BELOW 60 ..... F  You should DROP!

 WARNING: the final grades will NOT be computed with the numbers
          and thresholds above, since there will be more problem
 sets, and the meaning of the average may change.  But the above
 should give you a reasonable idea of how you are doing.
