Dear Prof. Strang,

We are interested in having a graduate student who could fulfill a Summer internship position offered by Reservoir Simulation Development Group at ConocoPhillips in Houston, TX. The main goal task involved in this position is to be able to improve and extend our GPU-based solver implementation  for realistic reservoir simulation cases. The solver approach is currently implemented in both CUDA and C++  and the final version needs to be plugged into our in-house multiphase/compositional simulator. The intern will be also performing benchmarks against multicore solver implementations. Hence, a high level knowledge on linear algebra, parallel computing and, scientific programming is required.

The student will be exposed to a resourceful working environment characterized by a continuous motivating interaction with computational scientists and engineers researching at the group.  This position offer extends from late May/early June through the end of August along with a very competitive compensation.

Please let me know if you or one of your colleagues may have a candidate to fulfill this position. The interested students can contact me through the personal info provided below. Candidates will be also asked to submit their resumes by March 31. Thanks in advance.

   Best Regards,

   Hector Klie
