Problem sets:
There will be weekly homework sets, which are given out Fridays in lecture
and are available on the course web page. Assignments will be due on a Friday by
noon at UMO 2-106; Your recitation leader will have the graded problem sets available for
you the next week after they have been turned in. Late homeworks are strongly discouraged.
Attempt each part of each problem yourself. In case of collaboration,
write up each problem independently, and
write on your problem set whom you consulted and the sources you used.
Exams: Two one-hour exams given during class periods plus a three-hour final during final week. The one-hour exams will take place in 2-136.
Grading: Problem sets, hour exams, and final exam will be weighted approximately 20%, 40%, and 40%, respectively, in the determination of the course grade.
Questions: Concerns about homework, grading, exams: see your recitation instructor. Changing recitations, other: see 2-108.
